Patricia Ann Cribb Phipps, 69, of Milwaukee, Wis., passed away on Monday, Aug. 19, 2019, at Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. She was born on April 10, 1950, to Earl Monroe Cribb and Mary Pearl Martin Cribb. Mrs. Phipps served her country with courage and honor in the United States Army. Survivors include her son, John Smith of Tabor City, N.C.; her two daughters, Laura Smith of Milwaukee, and Elizabeth Gonzalez of Cherry Valley, Calif. Mary Lynn Todd, 81, of Loris passed away on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, at Embrace Hospice in Myrtle Beach. Ms. Todd was born on March 14, 1938, in Loris to the late Harvey Richardson Todd and the late, Virginia Alberta Todd. She worked with the Horry County Treasurer’s Office for forty-three years and was a longtime member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. James R. Jordan Sr., 83, of Little River died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019. Born on Oct. 5, 1935, in Conway, he was the son of the late James Ed and Henley Murdock Jordan. Mr. Jordan was the owner of Waterway Furniture in Little River. Col. Ralph C. Squillace Jr.,  U.S. Army Retired of Little River, died on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at McLeod Seacoast Medical Center in Little River. Born on Oct. 19, 1942, in Vineland, N.J., he was the son of the late Ralph C. and Doris Milne Squillace. He graduated from The Citadel in 1965 and retired from the U.S. Army after many years of dedicated service to our country. Colonel Squillace is survived by his wife, Linda Wilson; two sons, Ralph C. Alma Jean Mintz, 87, of Little River went to dance with the angels on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019. One of five children, she was born on May 22, 1932, in Narrows, Va. to the late Robert Lucas and Virgie Spicer Lucas.  She was a wife, mother and homemaker for most of her life.  She was a member of Providence Primitive Baptist Church. The North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Department announces its next Pedal in the Park with a Luau theme. Bring your bicycles out to the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex on Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. for a leisurely three-mile starlit bike ride. Program helps veterans

The Little River Elks have partnered again with the United Methodist Church Armed Services Assistance Program (ASAP). This program provides about $110 worth of food monthly to needy veterans in Horry County. Currently, there are from 52 to 63 veterans that participate in this food distribution program. It takes about $480 to support one veteran for one year. This vital program is essential to these veterans who can barely sustain themselves from month to month. The Little River Elks have a strong veterans support group to assist those veterans to have a better quality of life. The Elks motto is …
