Flora Berniece Garrell Dunnagan of Myrtle Beach died on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019. She was born on Dec. 28, 1926, to Clarence Dow Garrell and Bertha Elizabeth Garrell of Tabor City, N.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Dutton Dunnagan; brother, Clarence Dow “Dick” Garrell Jr. of Murrells Inlet; sister, Sara Stephens of Dillon; and half-sister, Frances Cox of Tabor City. The North Myrtle Beach High School wrestling team traveled to Bluffton for the 4A SC High School Individual wrestling competition last Friday and Saturday. After two long days of matches the Chiefs qualified five team members for the individual state finals to be held in Anderson on February 22 and 23. Chiefs wrestlers met counterparts from teams across the lower state. If they lost a match up to and including the semifinals, then they would go into the consolation bracket of the competition. Aberdeen Country Club, a Founders Group International course, will reopen for public play on Saturday, February 23. The 27-hole facility, which closed in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence to rebuild its clubhouse, is in immaculate condition with the Grand Strand’s peak spring season on the immediate horizon.
