Clubs volunteer at farmers market

On Saturday, July 19, members of the Little River Lions Club, North Myrtle Beach Lions Club and the Kiwanis Club of North Myrtle Beach volunteered to distribute food at the farmers market located on First Avenue South in North Myrtle Beach. Fifty-five people were in attendance to pick up food and fresh produce on Saturday, July 19, a record number for the farmers market. The clubs volunteer on every third Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. until 12 noon.

Bubba Collins announces for re-election to NMB City Council

Bubba Collins has announced his plans to run for re-election to North Myrtle Beach City Council Ocean Drive District. “I feel like we have made good progress over the last four years and I want to build on that work,” said Collins who was first elected to North Myrtle Beach City Council in 2021. Warning tickets given by LPD during memorial ride

By Kaye Collins The spontaneous Memorial Ride for the Green Sea Floyds High School students who tragically passed away a week prior featured trucks and cars packed with friends wishing to honor their memory by cruising through Loris on Highway 701 on Thursday, July 17. The ride went awry when they stopped in the Hills Parking Lot and revved their engines, doing donuts in the lot and spin-outs. One vehicle was spinning their tires generating smoke that filled the parking lot, making visibility nearly impossible. NMB 12U All-Star Baseball Team wins DYB state championship

By John Smithson The NMB Parks and Recreation 12U all-star baseball team completed their undefeated march through the DYB “O” Zone Tournament as they beat Hilton Head and Lancaster to win the state championship. The Chiefs beat Lancaster 4-3 last Monday night and then beat Orangeburg last Tuesday night to set up a meeting with Hilton Head last Wednesday.
