The North Myrtle Beach High School Varsity Chiefs Cheer team has made school history as the first team to qualify for the prestigious UCA National Game Day Competition held February 6–8, 2026, in Orlando, Florida. Even more impressive, they were the only team from South Carolina to compete in the national Game Day division this year.

UCA Game Day is one of the most competitive divisions in high school cheerleading. Designed to replicate the energy, precision, and crowd leadership required on the sidelines during a live sporting event, teams are evaluated on crowd engagement, timing, sharp motions, jumps, stunts, and overall game-day presence. Qualifying for this division is a significant honor and reflects an elite level of performance and execution.

Competing on the national stage for the first time, the Lady Chiefs proved they belong among the best. Missing semifinals by just 0.1 points and finishing ahead of programs that have competed in this division for years speaks volumes about their work ethic, heart, and determination.

Beyond the competition floor, the trip was filled with growth and team bonding. From the electric energy on the mat to time spent together enjoying the Disney parks, the experience created memories that will last far beyond this season.

This historic season would not have been possible without the leadership and dedication of Coach Kristen Wilkerson and Coach Michelle Stokes, who guided the team with organization, preparation and heart every step of the way.

With a groundbreaking national appearance now in the record books, the future is bright for North Myrtle Beach Chiefs Cheer.
