Loris First Presbyterian Church (LFPC) and Loris First Baptist Church (FBC) streamlined their services through technology. Ron Barron, youth pastor at LFPC, used Facebook Live to provide the church’s youth with encouragement messages and prayer to continue to serve the Lord. He wants the youth to know that he is available through live broadcasts. By Pat Dowling During their regularly scheduled March 16, 7 p.m. meeting, the North Myrtle Beach City Council adopted an emergency ordinance and an emergency declaration. Just as the city adopts emergency ordinances and declarations for hurricanes, this declaration positions the city to be able to respond to COVID-19 related issues as they may arise locally. It also positions the city to qualify for state or federal reimbursements that may be provided to help reduce the impact that COVID-19 related expenditures may have on the city’s budget. The Chiefs opened the week with an 18-1 loss to powerhouse Waccamaw last Monday at North Myrtle Beach. The Chiefs came back on Thursday to get their first win over Socastee by a 5-4 score.
