Cornhole store holds weekly tournaments

By James Pease II On Sunday, Aug. 10, Kyle’s Cornhole Boards hosted one of their weekly cornhole tournaments. Kyle Eshbaugh is the owner and score announcer for Kyle’s Cornhole Boards. He began playing in local cornhole tournaments at Castaways in October 2018. At the time they only played with 12 players. Since then, Eshbaugh has been an integral part in growing the community that can be found at the local tournaments today with a following of over one hundred players. By Lauren Jessie The City of North Myrtle Beach is encouraging residents and business owners to review and submit feedback on the draft Horry County Multi-Jurisdictional All-Hazards Mitigation Plan. Every five years, Horry County updates its Hazard Mitigation Plan — a roadmap for reducing the impacts of disasters such as hurricanes, floods, wildfires and severe storms. This update was developed by the Mitigation Task Force, with Horry County Emergency Management working alongside local and regional partners. Little River native sworn in as Horry County Judge

Angela Gause Brown is a native of Horry County, S.C..  She was born in Little River and graduated in 1992 from North Myrtle Beach High School. She continued her education at Charleston Southern University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice in 1996. Angela received certifications from the Children’s Development Association in 2000 and 2024 in Pastoral Counseling with Be Your Miracle Center, Inc. Church announces several upcoming events

By Sharon Bray After a brief retirement, Pastor Mike Lawing founded Restoration Church on October 1, 2023, after receiving  a call from the Lord to continue his ministry.  The first meeting was held in McLean Park in North Myrtle Beach. The church met at Goodfellas until a permanent location was acquired in May 2024. Services began at 86 Cloverleaf Drive, Suite 206, in Longs. S.C., on May 19, 2024. Junior Lifeguard Program finishes summer session

By John Smithson The second summer session of the NMB Ocean Rescue’s Junior Lifeguard Program concluded last Saturday with games and exercises that highlighted the skills and knowledge that participants learned in their second summer camp. The program is offered twice during the summer months by the city’s ocean rescue personnel, one camp in June and another in July.
