12U Softball All-Star Team is recognized during meeting

NMB 12U All-Star Baseball Team wins DYB state championship

By John Smithson The NMB Parks and Recreation 12U all-star baseball team completed their undefeated march through the DYB “O” Zone Tournament as they beat Hilton Head and Lancaster to win the state championship. The Chiefs beat Lancaster 4-3 last Monday night and then beat Orangeburg last Tuesday night to set up a meeting with Hilton Head last Wednesday. The ceremony featured a blessing of the new engine by Father Wil Keith, Chaplain for Midway Fire Rescue in Georgetown County, followed by a traditional push-in—honoring a longstanding fire service tradition. International students visit North Myrtle Beach

By Dorothy Bambach Last Saturday, the North Myrtle Beach Lions Club welcomed 21 international students between 15 and 20 years of age as part of the Lions Youth Exchange. They were feted for breakfast at Spiro’s Pancake House. The group traveled around South Carolina visiting Lions Clubs sharing their cultures and Lion activities. The students hail  from Brazil, Belgium, Hungary, Switzerland, Lithuania, Poland, Taiwan, Finland, Germany, Spain, Mongolia, Italy, Spain, France, Netherlands, Austria and India.

Vendors sponsor crafts festival at local museum

They sponsored an arts and crafts festival on Saturday, June 7, at the North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum with vendors who have a cognitive or sensory disability. This means that anyone who was diagnosed with autism, Down Syndrome, intellectual impairment, is visually or auditorily disabled were invited to sell their wares at this festival. JV lacrosse coach manages second lacrosse camp

By John Smithson Since head lacrosse coach Zach Lytle was unable to attend the second lacrosse camp for middle school age players, JV coach Ryan Swisher was preparing to make ten young campers more knowledgeable about the sport of lacrosse.
