Nighttime lane closures planned on SC 9 for repairs

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has begun bridge repair work on SC 9 Northbound over US 17 starting on Sunday, October 12. This project will require nighttime lane closures that may impact residents and visitors traveling through the North Myrtle Beach area. Work is scheduled to take place Sunday, October 12, through Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. through the end of October. Windy Hill gains new water supply tank

By Gianna Forbis The City of North Myrtle Beach has begun construction on a two million gallon water storage tank and a new 30 inch water transmission line in the Windy Hill area. Work on the transmission line is currently underway along Poinsett Street, while construction of the new water tank has begun in Windy Hill. The project is expected to be completed by the summer of 2026. Construction activity will be limited to public road rights-of-way and designated construction easements.
