Wober wins open city council seat

The Special Election for the City of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., was held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

The North Myrtle Beach Municipal Election Commission has released the following unofficial results for the North Myrtle Beach city election.

The total number of votes are as follows:

Ray Collins – 1,031

Melissa Wober – 1,176

Write In – 4

This election filled the unexpired term for the Crescent Beach Ward seat, which became vacant following the November 2025 General Election. The unexpired term is March 2026 through November 2027.

The Commission will meet at City Hall at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026, to certify the election and determine the validity of ballots challenged in the election.
