Have you ever noticed the neon blue birds visiting your backyard? They aren’t common blue jays. They are Eastern bluebirds with brilliant blue heads, backs and breasts. Would you like to learn more about them?
The Yaupon Garden Club, in cooperation with the North Myrtle Beach Historical Museum, has invited David Slaunwhite, Ph.D., an expert with the South Carolina Bluebird Society, to tell us more about these colorful visitors. He will explain the importance of nest boxes and food that may attract them to your backyards.
The program is presented as part of the observation of National Garden Week, June 7-13. It will take place on Wednesday, June 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum. The program is free and open to the public.
