Despite clouds and light rain, the 8th annual Macaroni Mania went on as scheduled last Saturday at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex.

The Mania was held to raise funds for The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. The crowd may have been a little less than previous years due to the weather, but those attending still had the opportunity to taste macaroni and cheese dishes from several restaurants participating in the macaroni cookoff.

Attendees enjoyed the food, live music on the park’s amphitheater stage and the opportunity to taste and judge the various mac and cheese recipes from the participating restaurants. Proceeds from the sale of food tickets and a silent auction benefited The Humane Society’s local animal shelter.

The Humane Society also brought animals for adoption. Vendors were also there to sell products for pets and pet owners.

The Mania was scheduled to last from 11a.m. to 4 p.m.  If you missed it and want to help the local Humane Society, check out their website, Humane Society NMB.org.
