Ladies win first place, boys second in meet

The NMB Lady Chiefs won their first track meet of the season last Wednesday over Aynor and Loris in the three-team meet at The Hank. The girls team won 78-52 over Aynor with Loris third with 29 points. The Chiefs were just edged out by Aynor 69-67 in the meet.

Here are a few highlights from the meets. Laquashia Hardee won the 100 meter dash for Loris. Gabby Woodard and Brandi Gore were third and fourth for the Lady Chiefs. Gore was second in the 200 meter dash. Zoe Mandley, Malaysia Batten and Reaghan Farquharson were 1-2-3 in the 400 meter dash.

Robyn Walsh, Ashtyn Faulk and Emma Carnes were 1-2-3 in the 800 meter run and Walsh won the 1600. The Chiefs won the 4×100 relay. Israfel Thomason and Zoe Mandley were first and second in the high jump. Brandi Gore was second in the long jump with Mandley and Jamiyah Vereen third and fourth.

Robyn Walsh and Lucy Stalvey were second and third in the triple jump. Alexandra Hines won the pole vault. Miya Clarke was first in the discus with Adrieanna Mackey third. Mía Clarke and Khamani Owens were 1-2 in the shot put.

In the boys 100 meter dash Jonathan Evans was first and Warren Broomer fourth. Evans also won the 200 meter dash with Maximus Cousins fourth. Dylan Kempf, Jeremani Bernard and Maximus Cousins were 1-2-3 in the 400 meter dash.

Troi Butler, Parker Caugh and Tavion Vereen were also 1-2-3 in the 800 meter run. Todd Braxton was second in the 1600 meter run with Caugh fourth. Nick Davis was second in the 3200 meter run. Primere Lewis won the 110 meter hurdles with Jahandre Wilson third.

The Chiefs 4×100 relay team won over Loris by .02 seconds. Fabian Bethea won the high jump for Loris. Norvion Finklea was second, Jaden Chestnut third and Primere Lewis fourth. Jahandre Wilson was fourth in the long jump. Dylan Kemph won the pole vault. Nigel Vereen was fourth in the shot put.
