The North Myrtle Beach High School boys varsity lacrosse team went 1-1 in two region games last week and lost a non-region game to Laurence Manning Academy.
The Chiefs first region game was last Monday at The Hank when they beat the visiting Socastee Braves. The Chiefs got off to a slow start and were outscored 5-2 in the first quarter of play.
The Chiefs turned it around in the second quarter, scoring four unanswered goals in the quarter and led 6-5 at the half. The Chiefs continued their improved play in the second half, getting 4 goals in the third quarter and one in the final 12 minutes for an 11-7 victory over the Braves.
Tennyson Hollo led the Chiefs in scoring with four goals. Rocco Cornett scored three times in the game and had an assist. Jonathan Gill scored twice and also had an assist. Jamisen Gill scored once and Joshua Hutton also scored. Camden Roberts and Rivers Higdon each had an assist. Bryan Taylor saved 18 of 25 shots in the game for the Chiefs.
Last Thursday the Chiefs traveled to Carolina Forest for their second region game with the Panthers. The Chiefs lost this time by an 11-2 score.
The Chiefs finished the week with a Saturday afternoon game with the visiting Laurence Manning Academy who were undefeated coming in and going out of The Hank. The Chiefs lost 8-4 to the Swampcats.
The Chiefs had a Monday night contest at Myrtle Beach this week and are not back on the field until the week of April 10th when they take on South Brunswick at home.
