From Thursday, July 10, through Sunday, July 13, the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex hosted the “Summer National Championships” on behalf of Top Gun Sports.
The “Summer National Championships” consist of 150 youth baseball and softball teams from seven states including Ohio, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Baseball consists of 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U teams.
Softball consists of 10U, 12U and 14U teams.
All teams play four one hour games that determine their seed number. Then each team plays a single elimination bracket. This gives every team a chance to play multiple games during their stay.
The tournament gives families a chance to play ball but also visit places they have never been before.
All teams during the tournament have a “beach day” where they get time to rest and recover, making it the perfect time to explore the area.
Another tournament will be held at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex during Labor Day weekend.
