McLeod Breast Surgery Seacoast announces new providers

McLeod Breast Surgery Seacoast is pleased to announce the addition of Breast Surgeon Dr. Hannah Woriax and Nurse Practitioner Tia Ramirez to the breast surgery team.

Dr. Woriax and Ramirez join a team of multi-specialty oncology providers including: Dr. Donny Huynh, Dr. Kerolos Rizk, Dr. Ritwick Panicker, Dr. Jordan Gainey, Dr. Virginia Clyburn-Ipock, Dr. Dustin Eck, Rachel Hester, FNP, and Melissa Bradley, NP, in serving patients at the McLeod Center for Cancer Treatment and Research, a department of McLeod Regional Medical Center, located on the McLeod Health Seacoast campus.

Dr. Woriax comes to McLeod Health from Duke University’s Department of Surgery. She completed her residency at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia, followed by a Breast Surgery/Oncology Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama.

Board Certified in General Surgery, Dr. Woriax treats both benign and malignant breast disease. This includes  breast cancer, following and treating abnormal imaging, breast infections, inflammatory disease, and mass/lump excisions. She also specializes in a wide variety of surgical breast procedures such as hidden scar surgery for lumpectomies, total mastectomy, skin-sparing mastectomy, nipple-sparing mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsies as well as targeted and complete axillary lymph node dissections.

Ramirez is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with advanced clinical expertise in oncology, hematology, and women’s health. She has worked as an interventional radiology manager, a registered nurse lead, and most recently in gynecological oncology.

“Breast surgeons are not just treatment physicians; we also offer prevention and following treatment we focus on survivorship. I am excited to join the well established McLeod Health system that continues to grow and provide care for patients in Horry County and beyond,” said Dr. Woriax.
