The Chiefs scoring against the Lady Sharks was led by Lexi Schmidt with 6 goals. Aryanna Kipybida, Ava Patel, Sydney McClannan, Jasmine Watts and Lainee Smith each scored one goal. The Chiefs did not send complete teams to the meet but there were some positive individual finishes by members of the boys and girls teams. For the girls team Halle Morris won the 200 meter dash. Madison Vereen was first in the 400 meter dash. Israfel Thomason was first in the 100 meter hurdles and Morris won the 400 meter hurdles. The Chiefs 4×100 meter relay team finished third. The Chiefs beat Conway at home on Tuesday 2-0 with two first half goals by Cristhian Vasquez and Jen Carlo Hernandez Sanchez. Joshua Sanchez and Preston Taylor assisted on those goals. By Ruben Lowman A 32-year old resident of the Longs community has been sentenced to two decades in prison following a series of drug-related arrests involving the potent synthetic opioid fentanyl. Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor Jimmy Richardson announced that Christopher Vereen of Longs entered guilty pleas last week to charges of first-offense trafficking of fentanyl between four and fourteen grams and second-offense possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. The legal proceedings concluded with a significant sentence aimed at addressing the repeated nature of the defendant’s criminal activity within the Horry County area.
