An arts and crafts festival was held at the North Myrtle Beach Area Historical Museum on Saturday, December 6. About 200 people visited the festival where the vendors were adults with special needs who made the arts and crafts they sold. They were not charged any fees for displaying and selling their wares, so what they charged for the items was their profit. Regina was one of the vendors who made key fobs, earbud cases and jar openers. She sold almost all of her items. The Columbiettes at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church sponsored the fair, and …

Around 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, C-Battalion units responded to a reported structure fire in the 600 Block of 21st Avenue North in the Cherry Grove section. Engine 2 arrived and found thick black smoke banking down in the living space of a raised beach house. An interior fire attack was initiated that was coordinated with vertical ventilation from the truck crew and primary search by rescue crew.
