Club president Phillis Newman was the guide and began the tour at the CB Berry Center. A historical display housed in an attractive case provides articles and artifacts associated with Vereen Gardens. The 35th annual judged exhibit features painters from the greater Calabash region of the Carolinas. A raffle of original art raises scholarship funds for aspiring college bound art students. The Chiefs dropped a fly to left field to open the game, and a second error on a sacrifice bunt scored the first run of the game for Aynor. The girls team won 78-52 over Aynor with Loris third with 29 points. The Chiefs were just edged out by Aynor 69-67 in the meet. Here are a few highlights from the meets. The Chiefs opened play in the tournament last Thursday with a 9-1 victory over the host Warriors team. The game was scoreless until the top of the third inning.
