City accepting applications for Public Arts Commission

The Public Arts Commission plays an important role in establishing a body to guide facade grant improvements and reinforcing the role of arts and design in the community. The city’s 2018 Comprehensive Plan calls for strengthening the visual aspect, identity and characteristics of the North Myrtle Beach historic main streets. Girls tennis knocked out of 5A playoffs

By John Smithson The North Myrtle Beach girls tennis team made the SCHSL 5A playoffs and faced St. James at home last Thursday afternoon. The Lady Chiefs and the Lady Sharks split their two matches this season, but the Chiefs earned the home court advantage. The Chiefs had a bye in the first round of the SCHSL 5A Division 2 playoffs and Berkeley (7-17) came into North Myrtle Beach after beating West Florence in their first round match. Central Park Pickleball Complex groundbreaking ceremony is Saturday

The City of North Myrtle Beach invites the community to celebrate the groundbreaking of the future Central Park Pickleball Complex located on Possum Trot Road. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 25, at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Pickleball with the Stars event at 10 a.m. at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center. The new complex will feature fifteen pickleball courts, including a covered championship court, a small clubhouse with restrooms, vending, office space and open lawn seating for spectators. Water transmission line construction to cause temporary closures
